THE BUCS SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS ENTRY DEADLINE IS THURSDAY 6TH OCTOBER

BUCS SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 has 4 fields of competition open:

•    Individual Men's Championship
•    Individual Women's Championship
•    Men's Team Championship
•    Women's Team Championship

Each University can enter:

•    Men’s: 4 guaranteed places and up to 8 non guaranteed places
•    Women’s: 2 guaranteed places and up to 4 non guaranteed places

INSURANCE & AFFILIATION INFORMATION – IMPORTANT!

Individuals and surf clubs are not required to affiliate to any other organisation (this includes BSA, Surfing GB or ISA) to compete in the BUCS surf championships. 

Individual and clubs do need to have appropriate insurance cover to compete in the BUCS Surf Championships.  BUCS therefore require an email from all entrants athletic union confirming that they are fully insured to compete in the championships.  If your athletic union does not have appropriate insurance cover, entrants must insure themselves using a policy which BUCS has organised with their official insurance partners (details coming soon!)

SURF GB JUDGING CRITERIA

A surfer must perform radical controlled manoeuvres in the most critical sections of a wave with speed, power and flow to maximise scoring potential.

Innovative and progressive surfing as well as variety of repertoire (manoeuvres) will be taken into consideration when rewarding points for waves ridden.

The surfer who executes these criteria with the maximum degree of difficulty and commitment on the waves shall be rewarded with the highest scores.
